Hi. My name is Danielle Gershon and I am a sophomore at
Colorado Christian University. I’m
studying psychology, but still have yet to decide what I want to be when I grow
up. I love to be around people and to
help out others in any way possible and that is one of the main reasons I have
a desire to go to Uganda. My hope is
that God would rock my world through their culture and lifestyle.
I’m really excited that we are going to Uganda to create a
soccer camp for young girls. I have been
passionate about soccer since I was a young girl and I now play for CCU. This has been such a crazy journey, but I am
extremely blessed to have this athletic ability. There is always a feeling of freedom when I
play soccer and it becomes my outlet to the stresses of life. My love for the
game and healing from the Father has allowed me to go through three knee
injuries and still be able to play! I’m
looking forward to seeing these Ugandan girls experience the same freedom and
life through a game that they love. This
is something that they will be able to look forward to every year. My hope is that this will become a tool to
help share the gospel of Jesus Christ, another passion in my life.
My hope and prayer for this trip is that we can spread the Good
News of Jesus Christ to Uganda, to people just like you and I, created in God’s
image who are treasured and loved by our Father in Heaven. My prayer is not that they will just hear the
Gospel, but that their eyes will be open to the gravity of what it means to
have our sins washed away in God’s sight, to have our dead souls lifted up into
new life, to be redeemed. I pray that
through our ministry, they will experience love, freedom and life transformation
like never before!
I am very excited for this trip and I’m looking forward to
all that God has in store for us. I know
that the will do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine, for His
glory! (Eph. 3:20, 21)
Thank you for your financial support and prayers. It means the world to me!!!
